Welcome to Nigerian Navy Secondary School Abeokuta. The school is the Navy's premier, all boys and fully boarding school. The school was established on 02 Feb 91 by inheriting a part of St.Leo's Teacher's College whose population was not more than 200. The first set of students commenced academic training on 02 Mar 91 with 635 students in Js 1 - JS2 and 44 experienced teachers. Since then the school has grown to a population of 1,200 students.
The mission of the school is to provide a teaching and learning environment for students to attain academic excellence. To do this, the school ensures physical, social, personal and psychomotor development of students. It also inculcates a sense of responsibility among the students. The goal is to build each student, the community and indeed the nation.
To achieve this goal, the school has a unique blend of Naval and civilian staff for both administrative and teaching roles. This blend combines the finest attribute of discipline, hardwork and knowledge.
The total academic staff strenght is presently 113, while that of non-teaching is 79, in addition, there are 7 members of the NYSC. The breakdown of staff strenght and qualification is as follows:

The teachers are quite disciplined and dedicated.
The school has continued to make efforts to provide the needed conducive environment for the students to achieve academic excellence.
It is hoped that very soon NNSS Abeokuta will join the league of international schools in the country. Already the march towards this status has started with the establishment of this website.
Our accommodation is one of the best that can be found in any school,while the physcial environment is appealing. The school library is well stocked and operates till very late in the night.
With these, we call on all prospective students to come on board and acquire knowledge in the right environment.
While military schools mean different things to different people, NNSS's purpose is simple. We are in the business of getting young men ready to go out into the real world and be successful in whatever avenue they choose. Our academic program prepares them for college work, and our military structure teaches the boys the importance of discipline, hardwork and being accountable for their actions.
